Minister Leo Varadkar visits Al-Mustafa Islamic Centre on occasion of Eid to wish Muslims a Happy Eid festival

Muslims in Ireland and around the world had been fasting from dawn till sunset during the month of Ramadan and today celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the ending of the month of Ramadan.

Minister Leo Varadkar visited the Al-Mustafa Islamic Centre Ireland in Blanchardstown on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr to wish the Muslim community a Happy Eid.

Minister Leo Varadkar was welcomed by the Imam of the Islamic Centre, Shaykh Umar Al-Qadri, and members of the Islamic Centre. Minister Leo Varadkar also visited the prayer hall in the Islamic Centre and met with the members of the Muslim Community. The visit of the Minister on the occasion of Eid was highly appreciated by the Muslim Community. Members from the Muslim Peace & Integration Council also traveled from across Ireland to welcome the Minister in the Al-Mustafa Islamic Centre. The Minister was also briefed about the activities of the Irish Muslim Peace & Integration Council. Minister Leo Varadkar appreciated the upcoming “Not in our Name” protest by the Council against terrorism. On Sunday 26th July 2015 Muslims will come together in O’Connel Street to protest against the atrocities of the so-called Islamic State.
