On the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha the Minister of State Mr. Leo Varadkar visited the Islamic Centre in Blanchardstown prior to the Eid prayer and addressed the worshippers. He congratulated the Muslims for the festival of Eid and said he was there “to recognise the fact that Dublin and West Dublin in particular has become a very diverse part of Ireland and sometimes misunderstanding goes with diversity and I feel that I’ve a role as a local representative really to embrace that diversity and recognise it in all its forms.”

The Minister also congratulated the Irish Muslim Peace & Integration Council which organised donations for refugees in the Blanchardstown Islamic Centre and the Cork Mosque.

We thank the honourable Minister for visiting the Islamic Centre on such an important occasion and appreciate that not only the presence of Muslims in Ireland is acknowledged but also their success in integrating in the Irish society.
