The Irish Muslim Peace & Integration Council is deeply saddened and horrified by the violent attack at Bondi Beach in Australia. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, and we wish a full and speedy recovery to all those who were injured. Such acts of senseless violence have no place in our societies and strike at the very values of peace, safety, and human dignity that we all hold dear.

At this time of profound grief, we stand in unwavering solidarity with the Jewish community in Ireland, in Australia, and across the world. We recognise the pain, fear, and trauma that such attacks cause, and we unequivocally condemn all forms of antisemitism, hatred, and violence directed at any community.

As Muslims in Ireland, we reaffirm our commitment to peace, mutual respect, and the protection of all people, regardless of faith or background. Our faith teaches us that the taking of a single innocent life is an affront to all of humanity, and that standing against injustice and violence is a shared moral responsibility.

We call on leaders, institutions, and communities everywhere to work together to confront hatred, promote understanding, and strengthen the bonds between our communities. In moments like these, unity, compassion, and solidarity are more important than ever.

May the memories of the victims be a blessing, and may peace and healing prevail.
