Ramadan Mubarak from the Irish Muslim Peace & Integration Council (IMPIC)!
Ramadan Mubarak from the Irish Muslim Peace & Integration Council (IMPIC)! As the blessed month of Ramadan approaches, we extend our warmest wishes to the Muslim community in Ireland and around the world. May this sacred month bring you peace, blessings, and spiritual renewal. Ramadan is a time of reflection, gratitude, and unity, and we pray that Allah (SWT) grants us all the strength to fast, pray, and draw closer to Him. This Ramadan, let us also remember the importance of inclusion and community. As Muslims living in Ireland, we are proud to be part of a diverse and welcoming society. Ramadan is not only a time for personal growth but also an opportunity to strengthen bonds with our neighbours, friends, and fellow citizens. Let us embody the values of compassion, generosity, and unity that lie at the heart of Islam. To celebrate this blessed month together, IMPIC is delighted to announce that we will be organising a Community Iftar. This will be a special occasion for Muslims and friends from all backgrounds to come together, share a meal, and

IMPIC condemns Magdeburg Christmas market attack and expresses solidarity with victims
In light of the recent tragic events at the Christmas market in Magdeburg, Germany, the Irish Muslim Peace & Integration Council (IMPIC) extends its deepest condolences to the victims and their families. We unequivocally condemn this heinous act of violence, which stands in stark contrast to the teachings of Islam and the principles of peace and coexistence that we uphold. The attack, perpetrated by an individual identified as a Saudi-born psychiatrist with known anti-Islamic sentiments, resulted in the loss of five innocent lives, including a nine-year-old boy, and left many others injured. Extremists like this should face the strictest punishment by law. There should be zero tolerance for such extremism. Such actions are abhorrent and have no place in any society. Islam teaches the sanctity of human life, as emphasised in the Quran: “Whoever kills an innocent soul in the land – it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one – it is as if he had saved mankind entirely.” We urge all communities to come together in solidarity during this difficult time, rejecting hatred and

Statement on attack in Southport and subsequent riots motivated by racism and islamophobia
Dublin, Ireland – Aug 5, 2024 – The Irish Muslim Peace and Integration Council is deeply saddened by the recent wave of violence and attacks targeting Muslim-owned businesses in Belfast and other cities in the North of Ireland. As an all-Ireland organisation dedicated to policy, advocacy, and bridge building, we strongly condemn these heinous acts of racism, Islamophobia, and violence. We are deeply shocked and saddened by the recent knife attack on children in Southport, England. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families, and everyone affected by this tragic incident. It is troubling to see how the far-right has used this incident to spread hatred and misinformation about Muslims. The attacker was wrongly identified by far-right individuals as a refugee Muslim but was later found to be a British-born 17-year-old Christian choir boy, Axel Rudakubana. Irrespective of the faith of the criminal, it is unacceptable to blame the entire faith community for the actions of one individual. The ongoing riots and rise of far-right extremism fuelled by disinformation and misleading information have led to a dangerous climate where minorities,
