Ramadan Mubarak
The Irish Muslim Council is pleased to announce that the blessed month of Ramadan 1447 AH has commenced following the confirmed sighting of the new moon in KSA. Accordingly: 🗓 The first day of Ramadan will be Wednesday, 18 February 2026. Ramadan is a sacred month of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community. It is a time for spiritual renewal, increased devotion, and strengthening our bonds with family, neighbours, and society at large. The Irish Muslim Council extends its warmest wishes to the Muslim community across Ireland and prays that Allah (SWT) accepts our fasting, prayers, charity, and good deeds. May this month bring peace, mercy, and blessings to all. Ramadan Mubarak. Download the Ramadan Time table here:

Statement on the arson attack in Limerick Mosque
The Irish Muslim Council strongly condemns the recent arson attack on the Islamic Cultural Centre in Limerick. An attack on any place of worship is an attack on the fundamental values of peace, respect, and coexistence that define Irish society. We are deeply alarmed by the rise in anti-Muslim hate and the growing levels of Islamophobia across the country. Such acts of hostility and intimidation not only target one community but undermine the inclusive and democratic principles upon which Ireland is built. There can be no tolerance for hatred directed at any faith group. The Muslim community in Ireland stands firmly for peace, dialogue, and cooperation. We remain committed to working constructively with all communities and civic partners to ensure that fear, division, and prejudice do not prevail. At this critical moment, the Irish Muslim Council calls on the Government to strengthen protections for all places of worship, not only mosques, but churches, synagogues, temples, and every sacred space across the country. Every person must feel safe in practicing their faith without fear of intimidation or violence. Protecting religious institutions

Statement on the opening of the ICCI in South Dublin
We warmly welcome the opening of the ICCI on the eve of the blessed month of Ramadan, and we extend our sincere gratitude to the Maktoum Foundation for making this possible. The Muslim community in Dublin has long awaited this significant and joyful moment. As we enter this sacred season of reflection, mercy, and renewal, it is our hope that this new chapter for the ICCI will be marked by wisdom, transparency, and service to the entire community. While we are not aware of the details regarding the forthcoming administration and leadership of the congregation, we pray that it will be a leadership grounded in unity, inclusivity, and a sincere commitment to fostering peace and harmony among all. May this centre be a beacon of faith, knowledge, and compassion for generations to come. Irish Muslim Council
